We should not be surprised when the Olympics makes a mockery of the One True God. Consider its origins.
The Olympics originated in Ancient Greece and were celebrated in honor of Zeus and the Panhellenic gods beginning in 776 bc. This Panhellenic sanctuary was a neutral ground, open to all the Greeks to visit and worship their gods.
The sanctuary at Olympia was the most important in Ancient Greece. This cult center held the large statue of Zeus that was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
How did it all start? According to one story, four brothers raced to entertain the baby Zeus, who rewarded the victor with an olive wreath, which has since become a symbol of world peace.
The ceremony starts with a fire brought from the sacred fire of the temple of Hera, wife and sister of Zeus. In ancient times it was taken from the altar of hestia, oldest daughter of the titans Chronos and Gaia (Father Time and Mother Earth) and sister of Zeus. She became the first virgin goddess of the Grecian world. Even today, 11 Vestal Virgins light the Olympic flame before in a ceremony to her.
During the ancient games, a sacrifice of 100 bulls was offered to Zeus on the middle day of the event.
If the origins are in worship to false gods, should we be surprised when the religious mindset of Ancient Greece, with its rampant sexual deviancy and idolatry, shows up in its midst?
Transgendered priests writhed in dance then, they do so today. Bulls were worshipped and sacrifice then, they do so in effigy today.
The Olympics never has been and never will be a celebration of the God Who Created the world. It will always be celebrated to the demonic idols made by human hands, with debauchery and immorality at its roots.
Come out from among them and be ye separate.
