Is There Any Other God Besides Me?

The Word of the LORD spoke to Isaiah concerning the future revilement of Israel. He told of how the princes of the sanctuary would be pierced through. This indicates that there would be men in charge of the Temple that were not priests by lineage from Aaron. And in the days of Jesus, this became a reality, and those men suffered for their rejection of their Messiah. The priests and Temple leadership would be gone a mere 40 years after that rejection. In spite of this, the LORD was not done with Israel. And His dealings with them prove much about who He is!

Because God chose Israel to be His people all the way back in the days of Abraham, and then brought them forth in the way that He did, He showed His mighty power to choose, bring it about, and then deliver them from their enemies. He foretold what would happen and it came to pass over and over again. When Moses brought them out to the wilderness, God provided water from the rock and gave them everything they needed. Years have passed, but His power has not lessened. He will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground once again.

Not only that, but YHWH also promises to pour out His Spirit on their offspring in the future. Their future children would be blessed by God Himself. They would grow up among the grass like poplars by stream of water. One will say? ‘I am YHWH’s’ and another will be called by the name of Jacob, and another will write on his hand, ‘Belonging to YHWH.’ The name of Israel will no longer be reviled, as it is today, but will be honored. Obviously this passage has not yet been fulfilled. But it will be in the Millennial Reign of Jesus, who will reign in Jerusalem as King of Kings. In that day, Israel will no longer be the rebellious and disobedient nation it is, but will know their God in truth.
How do we know that this will occur? ‘This says the King of Israel and his Redeemer, YHWH of Hosts, ‘I am the Aleph and Tav, and there is no God besides Me. And who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it; yes let him recount it to Me in order, from the time that I established the ancient nation. And let them declare to them the things that are coming and the events that are going to take place. Do not tremble and do not be afraid; have I long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are my witnesses. Is there any God besides Me? Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.’

The simple fact that Israel still exists as a people and nation is proof that there is only One God. The fact they are reviled today proves God knows the future. And God’s many mighty works that He foretold and brought to pass - yes even the ones that are coming to pass right before our eyes - prove that YHWH alone is God. There is no other god to step forward and predict the future, then bring it to pass. God declared all these things would happen so very long ago. And He is keeping and fulfilling His Word. YHWH alone is God. There is no other god.
